Justin holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Management from UniSA.
He currently leads the Strategic Contracts Group, which is responsible for the management of large value procurements across the South Australian Government in categories such as energy, travel, stationery, temporary labour, auditing and financial services. The total spend under management is $310 million per year.
Prior to his current role, Justin has held roles in the public and private sectors with a focus on marketing and business development.
We asked Justin, if he had one piece of advice for alumni what would it be?
"Remember that the selection process is a competition – you are competing against others for a finite opportunity. This then underpins much of what we do through the mentoring process – working on the mentee’s competitive advantages, positively differentiating their application and that competition can be tough.
"For graduates, the first pass review of resumes and application letters may only be 30 to 40 seconds per applicant which can be a reality check for some students. Regardless, we work on what can be done to best improve the chances that your application will progress in the process. We then move on and look at the interview component and other selection activities such as assessment centres, group interviews and the like.”
