Share your knowledge as a mentor in 2016

2015 Business Career Mentor Program participants, Yolanda Nguyen and Paul Kitching

The UniSA Business Career Mentor Program is an innovative scheme that pairs students and recent graduates (within the past three years) with experienced business professionals to enhance employability and leadership skills. We have mentors and students based locally, interstate and internationally and are able to facilitate face-to-face as well as online mentoring relationships.

Paul Kitching, Business Development Manager, FULLER Brand+Communication, has been mentoring with the Program since 2012.

“I am so impressed by the continued high calibre of inspirational students I have met. It is so refreshing to not only meet these young, aspiring future-leaders and to share my thoughts and contacts – but to also learn from them and ensure that what I am doing remains relevant. The Program really is a two way street when utilised effectively, “ says Paul.

Paul’s mentee for 2015, Yolanda Nguyen, is a final year marketing student.

“I felt the pressure of having to prepare for my future career amidst the chaos of assignments, tests and examinations. Although I knew what I wanted to achieve after graduation, I was unable to realistically envision a clear pathway that would lead me to my ultimate career. Through regular meetings with Paul, I was provided with the opportunity to openly discuss these topics and receive the one-on-one support I needed. The professional insight from Paul even led me to secure a job in my most desired field, scheduled to commence at the completion of my degree,” says Yolanda.

"I highly recommend UniSA’s mentor program for both mentors and mentees. As a mentor I have found many benefits from high-end networking to understanding new updated educational processes,” says Paul.

“It was a pleasure getting to know Yolanda this year, she was well organised, eager and willing to continually learn: all excellent traits that will ensure her star continues to rise and shine brightly.”

Mentor registrations will open in early 2016. Express your interest via email to ensure you receive an invitation to apply.
