Support our students through the 25th Birthday Scholarship Fund
Over the past 25 years, UniSA has seen more than 190,000 alumni venture out across the globe and use their UniSA education to embark on extraordinary careers and make a difference in the world.
As we head towards UniSA’s 25th Birthday in 2016 we have created a 25th Birthday Scholarship Fund to celebrate our graduates’ achievements and to motivate and support future generations of students.
The 25th Birthday Scholarship Fund will provide scholarships, grants and prizes to give students the opportunity and support to make the most out of their university experience and to fulfil their potential long after graduating from UniSA.
One of the first donors to the Fund is Israel Zvulun, who graduated from UniSA with a Masters of Applied Science in Physiotherapy over 20 years ago. His donation is a way of saying thank you to the university who helped him shape his career back home in Israel.
“I have so many favourite memories from UniSA – I must say as an international student my studies were not easy; there was a lot of pressure but I always told myself to enjoy the experience and today I can remember every moment,” Israel says.
“I chose to donate to UniSA’s 25th Birthday Scholarship Fund because I am so grateful for what my stay in Australia and my time at the university has given me.”
Israel, who has used his own UniSA education to teach physiotherapy back home to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, believes it is so important to support students financially so they can focus on their learning and on enjoying their university experience.
He says his teachers and lecturers at UniSA became mentors and role models throughout his studies and professional career, and he hopes his donation to the scholarship fund will help make studying at UniSA as influential and rewarding to future students as it was for him.
“My advice to students is to make the most of every minute, not just from their studies but also from the friendships they make and their experiences in Adelaide.”
By making a donation to our 25th Birthday Scholarship Fund like Israel you too can support students like Tabitha who, disadvantaged by circumstance rather than ability, need financial assistance to help them reach their higher education goals Please visit: the 25th Birthday Scholarships page to learn more.
See Israel’s message on our donor board on the University’s 25th Birthday website at unisa.edu.au/25thmessages. All donors to this campaign have the opportunity to write a message of celebration and inspiration which will be published here and shared on social media.
Tabitha received a scholarship from UniSA to help her to pursue her dream of becoming a physiotherapist.
"I would love to motivate young people like me who come from not only rural areas but also disadvantaged backgrounds to follow their goals of higher education, despite the challenges it may present. I want to tell my story and explain to them that no matter what walks of life they are from or what hardship they had to endure, geographically or financially, there is always a way to attain their goals and one of those ways is through scholarships like this one.
Thank you for donating because the assistance your donation provides is indescribable'”
