Alumni Update 2013 Issue 5 University of South Australia, Business School
unijam
Counting down to unijam
unijam is now just days away and thousands have registered to take part – thanks to all those alumni who have already registered.

A special video has been made to show participants how to take part in the jam – see the unijam site http://w3.unisa.edu.au/unijam/

Alumni from every Australian state and from 42 countries around the world have registered for the jam and we are expecting more to sign up as the event draws closer.

Ideas and suggestions made during the jam will inform the planning process for the University for the next five years and help to set priorities around teaching, research, the student experience, our international engagement and how we work with industry to boost Australian innovation.

A list of special guests including Australia’s Ambassador to China, Frances Adamson and former Prime Minister Bob Hawke, a full guide to the topics to be discussed and a digital presentation explaining how to jam – all the tools you’ll need to take part - are now live on the website.

The jam is totally online; it is a social media style environment with the feel of a chat room, so there are many threads of conversation occurring simultaneously.

You can jam for two minutes or two hours; you can log on and observe; you can come and go into the jam as often as you want over the 48 hours.

As well as simply registering, we are keen that alumni should participate in the discussion and we are pleased to announce prizes to reward participation.

So now is the time to look over the website and plan your unijam session – pick the times the topics and the people you want to chat to and lock it into your diary.
