Rebuilding our Damaged Reputation: A Strategy for Australian Leadership on Refugee Protection – Adelaide
In this provocative lecture, Paul Power, CEO of the Refugee Council of Australia, will examine concerns expressed both nationally and internationally about Australian refugee policy; how Australia might begin to restore its damaged reputation; and the role civil society organisations and citizens in Australia could play in bringing about change.

Gender Pay Equity: How do we make it happen? – Adelaide
On 13 September the continuing gender pay gap will be discussed by an expert panel presenting the facts about gender pay inequity in Australia. Equal Pay Day is calculated annually to reflect the gender pay gap – the extra days the average woman needs to work to earn the equivalent income the average man earns by 30 June each year. This panel will present the data, explore the reasons and discuss where we can go from here.

Li Xu – Chinese Typographic Poster Design: Playing a Character – Adelaide
Travelling through time and space, the ‘character’ plays a vital role in the dissemination of information and exchange of ideas. This exhibition by Associate Professor Li Xu from the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, is a poster exploration of Chinese characters. It presents a Chinese approach in the use of typography, developed to facilitate understanding of Chinese culture and inspire new typographic approaches through the poster medium.
