Alumni Update 2013 Issue 1 University of South Australia
Message from our new Vice Chancellor
The strength of any university rests upon the quality of its people, and the University of South Australia is truly fortunate to be home to such a diverse and dynamic alumni community.

With more than 170,000 members spanning 124 countries, our alumni network ensures that the University remains closely connected and well represented throughout the world.

We are immensely proud of our graduates and their achievements, and I know that pride is shared by a vast number of our alumni. I believe that one of the keys to celebrating and maximising that relationship is to maintain close, two-way communications that benefit both the institution that served you well and the former students who now act as our global ambassadors.
Professor David Lloyd, Vice Chancellor and President, University of South Australia

So I extend an open invitation to our alumni to come back and visit the University when time permits, so that we can learn more about the success you have earned and we can outline in more detail our innovations and aspirations.

Whether it’s showing you how our campuses, teaching and research are evolving, or working out ways in which we can make the contemporary student experience even better through direct support or closer engagement with your industry or community, there is a myriad of means by which the University and our alumni can help one another.

At day’s end we share the same ambition – to be part of a successful organisation and to play a meaningful role in realising that success.

I thank you for your continued support of and interest in the University of South Australia, and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in the months and years ahead.

Professor David Lloyd
Vice Chancellor and President
