In the category of those who make wine in South Australia Schubert Estate would probably win the trophy for being the producer of the smallest amount of hand-crafted single vineyard Shiraz made. Schubert Estate is situated on Roennfeldt Road, Marananga in the Barossa Valley. This area, consisting of only a small number of hectares and particularly Roennfeldt Road, is internationally recognised for producing internationally acclaimed Australian 'Iconic' wines. Discovered by James Halliday in 2004 they were selected Best New Winery in his 2005 Australian Wine Companion. The flagship wine Goose-yard Block Shiraz carries the distinction, with every vintage made, of highest rating 5 glasses awarded by Australia's foremost wine judge James Halliday. Certainly their wines are considered a 'must have' with those who love Barossa wines. The Schubert mainly export their wine and do not have a cellar door, visits are by appointment only.
