Architecture
and Environment is a first year
course within the undergraduate degree
for
Architecture (Bachelor of Architectural Studies):
- Architecture and Environment introduces architecture as a mediator between the exterior and interior environments, an extension of the human body, a filter of energy, and a determiner of sensory experience. Studies emphasise the importance of architectural place and location with regard to the occupant and comfort, the climate and space, and the sun as both form giver and energy source.
Design, Culture and Environment is offered at first year level within the undergraduate degree for Interior Architecture (Bachelor of Interior Architecture):
- Design, Culture and Environment explores attitudes to the human being and the environment; cross-disciplinary design theory; designed environments and natural environments; design and consumption; design theory and representation.
