Architectural Design Studio 6 (integrated)

Architectural Design Studio 6 in the Bachelor of Architectural Studies encourages students to explore the opportunities present in crafting and documenting a small scale building. Students create an individual design and develop it to the stage of contract documentation.

The Architecture program considers documentation to be an essential component of the design process, familiarising students with issues of detail, craftsmanship and build.

Architectural Design Studio 8 (construction)

Jeremias Lim, Milos Milutunovic, Tony Ho: Corpor[8] HQ, 2003Architectural Design Studio 8 in the Master of Architecture models professional design practice through the design and documentation of a commercial scaled building undertaken in association with a client organisation. Students form a small architectural practice which prepares a project management plan - including schedules and resource allocation - prior to completion of a comprehensive set of contract drawings and specification for the project.

Project teams use computer software for project management, design and documentation, including Autocad, scheduling tools and web-based communication. Students apply input from consultants such as building certifiers, technical industry representatives, and structural, civil and services engineers to integrate complex design intentions with technical resolution.
