Artist bio
Honor Freeman was born in Glenelg, South Australia, in 1978 and currently lives and works in Sydney, Australia. Freeman completed a Bachelor of Applied Arts (Honours) in 2001 at the South Australian School of Art, Adelaide. Following her studies, she undertook a two year Design Associate position at the prestigious JamFactory in Adelaide, and in 2004 a residency at Guldagergaard Museum of International Ceramic Art, Denmark.
Her exhibitions include: Primavera 07, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney + Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art, Adelaide; Snap Freeze: Still Life Now, Tarrawarra Museum of Art, Victoria, 2007; Make the Common Precious, Craft Victoria, Melbourne, 2005, touring to Santiago, Chile, 2006; Adore - New Revival in Australian Ceramics, Sabbia Gallery, Sydney, 2005; Jamfactory Biennial 2003, Adelaide; Hatched - National Graduate Exhibition, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, Perth, 2002.
In 2006, Freeman was a recipient of an Emerging Artist New Work Grant
from Australia Council for the Arts. Most recently, Freeman was a guest
lecturer and visiting artist in residence at Henry Radford School of Art
at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, USA.
