From the Studio Head
The course Introduction to Ceramics is a prerequisite course that you need to have completed before enrolling in Ceramic Sculpture in Study period 2, or Intermediate Ceramics in Study period 5.
In Study period 5, we will be running the new course Intermediate Ceramics. This course will be offered to allow students who have completed any of the level 2 ceramic courses (such as Introduction to Ceramics, Ceramic Studio Production or Ceramic Sculpture) to expand and develop their technical skills in these areas. Intermediate Ceramics encourages students to extend on skills and techniques developed in previous level two courses and projects are structured to encourage greater opportunities for students develop personal language with clay ranging from functional to expressive approaches as a stepping stone to Studio Specialisation. When you enrol in Intermediate Ceramics please note that it will come up on your course list as a Directed Study VSAR 2076, as Intermediate Ceramics does not currently have its own VSAR number.
Students have to complete four courses in any one medium to complete their minor or to have enough points to go on and specialise in third year, so if you are interested in ceramics being your minor or major please consider enrolling in the above courses for 2010 to ensure that you completed the required number of courses. Enrolments are open to School of Art, Architecture and Design students on 5 January 2010 and then open to all other students (students from other UniSA schools and cross-institutional students) on the 20 February 2010 so enrol now!
