Snapshots
Gabriella Bisetto and Kirsten Coelho of the South Australian School of Art (now the School of Art, Architecture and Design) were successful in Australia Council and ArtsSA grants. Coelho was awarded the Australia Council Residency in London for 2006 and both Coelho and Bisetto were successful in receiving significant ArtSA grants for further research in their field.
artEAST (Helpmann Academy) winner 2005: The Mancorp Critics' Choice Award of $1000 was awarded to Maria Parmenter, a 2005 Honours student at the South Australian School of Art (now the School of Art, Architecture and Design), for her beautiful ceramic installation at Jah'z Lounge.
Tracey Rosser was awarded second prize in the Environment Youth Art Prize 2004 (Department for Environment and Heritage), winning $2,000 for her work, a set of five finely decorated 'funeral' urns for endangered species.
Kirsten Coelho, Masters graduate, was a recipient of Australia Council funding to have a solo exhibition at Craft Victoria, Melbourne, in October 2004.
The article 'Masters by Research at the University of South Australia', written by Masters students Kirsten Coelho, Lesa Farrant and Kylie Waters, was published in Pottery in Australia (vol 40, pp 58-59). The article highlighted the annual education issue.
Ceramics student Kylie Waters was awarded a APA (Australian Postgraduate Award) to complete her Masters in Visual Arts.
