Artist statement
Part portrait, part modern day idol, part worry doll? These blown glass figures (inspired by my Chinese sign - the Rabbit) are a culmination of ongoing research into ancient and modern day manifestations of the human and animal form.This series explores my own 'sense of self' expressed within the visual influences of contemporary media and youth culture. By drawing upon my own sensibilities, this series of work has become a personal portrayal of the myriad of thoughts and emotions from simple moments of everyday life.
