Artist statement

I have many different styles. Styles are like talking through paint. It changes as the world around me changes. I move countries every four years, so my work is an embedment of culture, experience and inspiration. I work with ink, acrylics, oils, watercolours, pencil, large scale, small scale, vibrant, melancholic, beautiful, disturbing, canvas, clothing, wood, walls.

Most of my work strives to capture reality.  Whether it is to explore issues relevant to today's society. Or just illustrate simple, everyday moments that denotes a beauty in itself. I do not pass judgement on the subjects of my work. I do not portray an issue to be positive or negative. I simply capture the reality of it. This has always been the role of artists in society: to capture the reality of that time which, in turn, records history.

'I just wanted to find out where the boundaries were. I've found out there aren't any. I wanted to be stopped but no one will stop me' - Damien Hirst
