Artist statement
My work focuses on the mood produced from an image through the manipulation of photographic techniques such as framing and light, irrespective of how the subject matter may originally be perceived. I like to take a person or object and control the environment they are photographed within to present them in a different way, usually composing an image from a small section of a subject to focus on one detail and express a certain theme or emotion. These images focus on how human emotion can be illustrated and how physical form, in particular the female body can be perceived. The use of post-production technology is an area I like to work with to enhance my photographic work and I am currently moving my work purely into the digital form.
