matchstudio is engaging in a steady flow of research and project activity in collaboration with researchers, all levels of government, not-for-profit organisation, schools, industry and a diverse array of businesses.

Arts in Health Alliance

The Women's and Children's Hospital Foundation (WCHF) & Art Architecture and Design School

In December 2009, the WCHF established a formal Alliance partnership with the University of South Australia's School of Art, Architecture & Design (AAD), recognising the positive impact of the arts, including good design, on physical, psychological and spiritual health and wellbeing.

UniSA has a strong focus on linking study with the professions by providing students opportunities for experiential learning as part of their studies. It is also committed to strong engagement with the wider community.

The AIH University Collaboration is a unique partnership that brings fresh, innovative thinking of Art, Architecture & Design students and graduates to the Health sector.

A number of projects have stimulated opportunities for artists and designers to contribute to improving health communication and patient care, these include:

Forensic Science SA Mortuary warehousing concepts - Six Industrial Design students investigate current cold room storage configuration within the forensics mortuary and developed concepts that could improve storage capacity and lifting mechanisms to improve OHSW.

2012 UniLife Fringe Hub design

A team of Interior architecture students have worked in matchstudio to devise and create the sets for UniLife's Fringe hub the Grand Academy of Lagado to be in the North Terrace student lounge and Barbra Harahan courtyard a City West.
