Making our communities sustainable is a complex and contentious issue. We need well-reasoned information in order to make sensible decisions that will mitigate the adverse environmental impacts of human activities, while advancing social equity and prosperity. In this book we provide many multidisciplinary perspectives on sustainability. Expert authors discuss and analyse how we can build, plan, travel, educate, manage resources (including waste), and power our communities in more sustainable ways, changing how we relate to, and interact with, the natural environment. The reader will develop their understanding of sustainability and how we can transform our communities as the climate changes and our society grows.
