Draft Program

The University of South Australia is proud to host the Research Applications in Library and Information Studies 2012 seminar.  This is the 8th event in the series, which brings together educators, researchers and practitioners within the information professions to enable a culture of informed and innovative research practice. All members of the information profession - libraries, archives, information and knowledge management, records, schools, museums - are invited to come and share their ideas and work with others.

Registration and Payment

The registration fees are as follows:

Standard Registration AUD $120
Member Registration AUD $95
Student Registration
(covers Research Student Consortium and Seminar)
AUD $70 
Student Registration (Doctoral Consortium only) AUD $20 

To qualify for the member rate, you must be a current financial member of one of the professional associations listed - (i.e. ALIA, ASLA, ALLA, PLA, SLA, RMAA, ASA).
Please ensure you include your membership number on your registration form.

Registration includes seminar sessions, morning, afternoon tea and lunch and dinner.

Payment must be made using the Registration Form for RAILS8

The deadline for all registrations is Friday 15 June 2012.  All accounts must be paid in full prior to the Seminar.  Delegates with outstanding amounts at the time of the Seminar will be required to settle their account upon collecting their registration or provide a credit card guarantee for payment to be made within 14 days post Seminar.

The following policy applies for variations to registration (i.e. withdrawals/cancellations)

  • 14 days or less - 50% of registration fees
  • 15 days or more $35 administration charge (inc. GST)

Substitute participants are welcome in lieu of cancellation up to the scheduled seminar date. UniSA must be advised of any substitute participants prior to the seminar commencement.

Research Student Consortium 24 June 2012

The Research Student Consortium includes paper submissions for PhD and research Masters students. For those contemplating a PhD and currently writing a proposal are welcome to contact Michael Olsson to discuss taking part.

Venue and Transport

The RAILS8 will be held at the City West campus of the University of South Australia.  This campus is located near public transport -buses, trams and trains.  The campus is within 5-10 minutes of the CBD, restaurants, cafes and Rundle Mall.

Accommodation

A fantastic deal for accommodation has been arranged with the Comfort Hotel Adelaide Riviera located at 31-34 North Terrace, Adelaide only a 5 minute work from the Seminar location.

RAILS8 Seminar Dinner  

The RAILS8 Dinner is to be held on the evening of the 25 June in the Comfort Hotel Adelaide Riviera - YORK Room.  Dinner will consist of 3 courses and Menu selections will be available 3-4 weeks before the Seminar for those who wish to pre-order.
