Antivirus software for BUE-IT home PCs
If you have a University supplied PC (blue plated) at home you should ensure that it has the most recent antivirus software installed. The antivirus software is configured to download updates automatically and can be managed by the BUE-IT staff.
The University's antivirus software has recently been upgraded to Symantec Endpoint Protection. If this is installed on your PC it is displayed in the taskbar (bottom right corner) as a yellow shield shown here:
If you have an icon that appears as below then you will need to update your software. You can download and install this software yourself.
The BUE-IT managed virus software should only be installed on University owned PCs. For an unmanaged version of this software available under the work at home arrangements please see the ISTS work at home webpage.
- logon to the PC using your uninet account - the account you usually use
- you will need to authenticate using your uninet\username and password to open the link
- choose to Save the file onto your hard drive
- you can then run the BUEHomeBPEndPoint.exe file to install the software
- the previous version will be overwritten - there is no need to uninstall first
Download the BUE-IT managed Symantec Endpoint Protection
