How to recall sent emails

The following are instructions on how to recall a message that was sent by mistake. If you act before a recipient reads the message, recalling it will allow you to send a corrected version to that person. Here's what you would do:

  1. In the Navigation Pane, click Sent Items to switch to that folder.
  2. In the Sent Items folder, double-click the message that you want to recall to open it.
  3. In the open message, click Other Actions in the Actions group, and click Recall This Message.
