Maggie was nominated for this award for her role in project managing the
refurbishment to Level 2 of the Law Building. This was a large scale project for
which Maggie was responsible for securing Minor Capital Works funding, for
scoping and planning the project in consultation with the senior leaders in the
School and the Facilities Management Unit, and for troubleshooting throughout
the construction and relocation phases. Amongst other improvements, the
refurbishments saw the development of 11 new offices, fit-out of the new Legal
Advice Clinic, new air-conditioning for the entire floor, and a reconfiguration
of teaching spaces to maximise student usage. The heritage status of the
building, and the need for the refurbishments to be finalised prior to the
beginning of Trimester 1 2011 provided a unique set of challenges. Maggie
demonstrated outstanding leadership through her conscientious management of this
important project, which ensured that the project was delivered on time, and to
the satisfaction of the key stakeholders. Congratulations Maggie.
Elke's award is for her direct contribution to the increased numbers of domestic
fee paying students enrolled with School of Marketing, attracted through search
marketing and prospect tracking. These techniques were components of a broader
promotional strategy for the School's postgraduate programs which were adopted
following an extensive marketing audit initiated and conducted by Elke in 2009,
when the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science assumed responsibility
for advertising and promotion for the School of Marketing. As a result of Elke's
leadership and drive to constantly achieve better results, student numbers more
than doubled in those postgraduate programs targeted. In producing clear
guidelines for the new promotional strategy and sharing these with Division
Executive so as to provide learnings for marketing teams in other areas of the
Division, Elke has shown a commitment to improving the successes of the School
of Marketing and of the Division as a whole. Congratulations Elke.

'workings' of the Law program and the other legal education offerings in Australia are highly valued by academic staff members in the School, and she regularly contributes advice, data and commentary on matters critical to the School of Law's strategic planning and accreditation activities. There is no doubt that Carol has played an instrumental role in the successful development of the School of Law, first established in 2007, and deserves a special commendation for her achievements. Congratulations Carol.
