Your Culture, My Culture
Your Culture, My Culture
About the program
Ever wondered what makes your classmates from another culture tick? Want to prepare yourself for the wide world of globalised society?
Your Culture, My Culture is designed with the aim of increasing the cultural perspectives of students which is a valuable asset in a world with the ever increasing global nature of business. Your Culture, My Culture will facilitate an opportunity for students to interact with one another socially whilst getting valuable benefits which extend far beyond your academic studies.
The program is simple and independently run by you and your group to best
suit what you want.
Once you apply you will be allocated into a group based on the preferences you
put down, then it's up to your group to decide how you want to organise your
meetings.
The program is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Expectations and Program Structure
Your Culture, My Culture is a semi-independent program so whilst there are some structured meetings, it is up to you and your group to enhance your experience in the program by meeting up external to these catch ups.
Remember that some people will only be able to meet at certain times and only a limited number of times a study period. It's important to not take someones unavailability as an indication that they don't wish to meet. We expect that your group will meet 3-5 times during a study period, this is including the structured catch-up's and it is alright if everyone can't meet together.
The program consists of 3 structured meetings which will be facilitated by UniSA staff and any further catch-up's should be organised by members of the groups. We recommend that extra off campus activities are organised in groups in order to enhance your cultural exchange experience.
Once again, due to the various commitments of group members, it is not necessary for the group to meet with all members present. The opportunity to meet with members of other groups is also encouraged. In order to get some ideas as to what to do for external meetings, please refer to the activities page.
