Professor Gene Whittenburg

- Professor Gene Whittenburg’s busy schedule included:
• Mentoring research students and discussing their projects - by
meeting with them regularly during the visit;
• Reviewing journal articles and/or conference papers with staff and
research students to provide feedback and guidance to improve the
potential for publishing; and
• Speaking with academics about potential research projects and
articles.
Gene was also an integral part of the SymposiumSA 2010 panel
(22/7/10) providing expert advice in the accounting stream and
general advice to PhD students and ECRs about career progression,
confidence, and contribution to literature. Gene has provided a
thorough and in-depth review of a submission to SymposiumSA 2010 in
the accounting stream.
- Gene reviewed research by CAGS members and is undertaking
informal discussions and consultations with Professor Roger Burritt
and Professor Lee Parker on the direction and engagement of CAGS
members with research. Gene consulted with Professor Roger Burritt
and Professor Lee Parker on maximising research output and
performance and engaged with staff members in one-on-one meetings on
the recommendations from this consultation.
