What masters programs are eligible for income support?

In 2008, Youth Allowance and Austudy assistance was extended to eligible students undertaking masters by coursework study in approved courses.

The Federal Government has approved the following UniSA postgraduate programs for student income support payments:

Master of Architecture
Master of Business Information Systems
Master of Professional Accounting
Master of Dietetics
Master of Information Technology (Networks and Security)
Master of Information Technology (Business Intelligence)
Master of Information Communication and Technology Management (Enterprise Systems)
Master of Nursing Practice (Graduate Entry)
Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
Master of Occupational Therapy (Graduate Entry)
Master of Physiotherapy (Graduate Entry)
Master of Psychology (Clinical)
Master of Psychology (Forensic)
Master of Psychology (Work and Organisational)
Master of Social Work
Master of Surveying
Master of Teaching (Early Childhood)
Master of Teaching (Junior Primary and Primary)
Master of Teaching (Middle and Secondary)
Master of Teaching (Primary and Middle)
Master of Urban and Regional Planning


This means that eligible students undertaking these programs may claim:

 
Students eligible for Youth Allowance and Austudy may also be eligible for rent assistance.

For information about eligibility, Masters by coursework students should contact Centrelink.

Please note that as of 1 January 2012, students enrolled in any full-time Masters by coursework program may be eligible for Youth Allowance.
