With end of year exams just around the corner many students will be thinking about their future study options. Remember, Year 12s applying for University will need to apply through SATAC by 30 September to avoid paying the late fee. And don't forget, students who apply after 3 December will not be given equal consideration, so make sure they mark the date in their diaries!

In other news, we sadly bid farewell to Lana Pearce and Kristen Pearce and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours. We welcome Mandy Denholm who joins Kolynda Maguire and Michelle Kavanagh in the Student Liaison Team. Welcome Mandy!

Exam tips for your students

We know exams can be quite daunting and stressful for some students. As an extra student resource for exam preparation, we recommend UniSA's Learning and Teaching Unit website which current UniSA students use. You can access study tips, stress-busting techniques and useful exercises in these final critical weeks, plus get advice on how to get through the day of an exam.

If you have any questions while counselling students, please don't hesitate to call 1300 UNINOW, or direct your students to contact us. Remind your students that they can still use CareerShop to do research on University degrees while they are making final preference decisions.

Creative Masterclass for Art & Design Teachers

Friday November 19, 9am - 5pm at City West Campus

Spend a day designing with award winning interior designer Kerry Phelan. Be motivated by her ideas and techniques involving an inspirational use of colour and texture with artwork as your stimulant. Kerry will divulge the approach that has resulted in her acclaimed reputation for award winning interiors including Ivy in Sydney and Jai Hotel in Shanghai.

This is a recognised CPD activity. All materials, morning tea, lunch and drinks will be provided.

UniSA College

UniSA College is opening its doors in 2011, bringing new opportunities for students to succeed at university level education. This unique University College will create pathways for even more South Australians to enter and succeed in tertiary education. It will deliver programs connected with schools and the community to raise awareness about tertiary opportunities and will uncover exciting new possibilities, especially for people who may not have considered university study as an option in the past.

Recent and upcoming career events

Thousands of students attended our information sessions this month and stepped onto one of our 5 campuses to get a closer look at our programs, see all the facilities first hand and get in depth information about a range of career areas. UniSA's Festival of Innovation hosted at our Mawson Lakes campus was just one of the career events future students could attend and showcased everything from IT, Engineering, Environment, Science, Maths and Civil Aviation. Students got to experience the latest in cutting edge technology, took part in interactive experiments and displays, and even got to see Channel 7's Gadget Guy, Peter Blasina (pictured above) in action!
