The Pank Family
The Pank family provides generous support to UniSA students and alumni.
David Pank was a leading figure in Australia's optical industry. This was through building Laubman & Pank as a national chain of optometrists, and particularly through setting up Sola Optical in 1960 and helping to develop this business as an international supplier of new technology optical lenses. Sola was bought by Carl Zeiss Vision International in 2009.
The Pank family has for many years been an active and generous supporter of UniSA by providing numerous scholarships - you can find out about these through the UniSA Scholarships pages. David Pank's contributions are recognised by the one of UniSA's buildings bearing his name.
This Prize for Entrepreneurship is a major award in the University; it consists of $15,000 cash provided through the generosity of the Pank Family with co-sponsorship from the School of Management, in addition to $15,000 value of mentoring support from the School of Management and from ITEK, UniSA's commercialisation company.
