Student projects
Our third year undergraduate students, Honours students, Master students and PhD students undertake 3 month, 1 month, 1 year and 3 year projects directed to industry problems. Let them help you.

Consultancy
Our experts can be consulted to help you identify problems, investigate efficiencies or tackle specific issues off site or on site where they have access to UniSA state of the art facilities. Our Capability Clusters and our Directory of Research Expertise can help you identify the capabilities that meet your needs.

Contract research and development
Applied research is not as remote as you might think; it can be accessed to tackle any problem or question that requires a new solution. Through contract research and development we can respond rapidly to your needs and assemble the team with the right blend of expertise to find an innovative solution. Our Capability Clusters, Laboratory Showcase and our Directory of Research Expertise can help you identify the capabilities that meet your needs.

Industry-University linkage research
Applied research is not as remote as you might think; it can be accessed to tackle any problem or question that requires a new solution. The Australian Research Council provides competitive funding for University research that tackles an industry problem or challenge, where the research is co-funded by an industry partner. The scheme provides a real opportunity for innovation; by assembling multidisciplinary and collaborative teams from across university and industry sectors and providing funding to reduce the risk of unknowns.

Applications are received bi-annually (in April and November) through partner Universities. Our Capability Clusters, Laboratory Showcase and our Directory of Research Expertise can help you identify the capabilities that meet your needs.

Centres of research excellence, Cooperative Research Centres and other Industry-University collaborations
We want to listen to your needs, understand the complexity of the challenge and be actively involved in rising to the challenge. Sometimes the challenge starts from understanding and articulating the problem itself.  We can assemble a cluster of experts, within the University and outside of the University, with the right combination of knowledge and expertise to pose the right questions.

Our Strategic Research Partnerships seek to understand these questions, from these clusters UniSA has grown Cooperative Research Centres, Sponsored Research Centres (sponsored research involves basic or strategic research not usually concerned with commercial outcomes), and Research Centres of Excellence.
