
This project is managed by the Indigenous Employment Branch, Department of Employment, Workplace Relations and Small Business.
Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, enrolled or about to enrol as a full-time, internal student in a degree program (usually a first degree) and prepared to undertake a cadetship with an employer in the private or public sector. Cadets are recruited to a permanent position on successful completion of their study.
Cadets receive a study allowance while studying full-time between March and November each year and a salary while undertaking work experience during the long vacation break. Cadets cannot receive AbStudy.
