EAS Research Vacation Scholarships
The Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences offers undergraduate
students who have completed either their
3rd or Honours year, who have a
strong academic record, the opportunity to undertake research for up to 8
weeks with experienced researchers, usually between December and March.
These scholarships are provided principally for educational purposes to
enable the recipient to engage in and gain experience in research.
Vacation scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis, based on
academic merit.
Purpose
The aims of the vacation scholarship are to:

encourage outstanding EAS students, who may be interested in exploring or wish to pursue a higher degree by research

stimulate students’ interest in research and
-
gauge their research aptitude
The scholarships are not intended to support the employment of students
for routine work or to support the completion of course requirements.
Eligibility
The scholarships will be open to enrolled UniSA undergraduate students
who, this year, have completed either their 3rd or Honours year.
Only one application per student is permitted and scholarships are
only awarded to undertake research at UniSA.
Funding
The scholarship will be paid at the rate of $300 per week for the agreed
tenure, up to a maximum of eight weeks.

Selection
Selection is competitive, based on academic merit and the availability of
researchers in your area of interest.
The EAS Research Office will aim to notify applicants by late November of
the outcome of the application.
Successful applicants cannot defer the scholarship and must take it up
during the time nominated on the application.
Report
Each successful applicant should forward a brief written report of the
work undertaken during the scholarship to the EAS Research Office within six
weeks of completing the scholarship.
