Minor choices in the MBET Primary & Middle Specialisation
Primary and Middle students are required by their program to undertake 8 Minor courses. Minor courses prepare students to teach two learning areas as a teacher in year 8 and 9 and/or to take up the role of a curriculum leader in a Primary School. Learning areas align with subject areas taught in schools e.g.: Humanities & Social Sciences, English, Mathematics, The Arts (Visual and Performing), Science, Information Technology, Languages, Health and PE and Teaching English as a Second Language. There are some cross-curricular areas that may also be taken including Languages, Lutheran studies or Catholic studies.

Students can do 4 courses in one learning area (eg. Maths) and 4 in another (eg. PE)

We know that choosing a Minor sequence in the Primary and Middle program can be complex for new students. The following word documents describe the appropriate patterns of enrolment for the more popular Learning Areas. If you need any clarification please don't hesitate to contact us at: UniSASchoolofEducation@unisa.edu.au
