Development of a Virtual Instrument Based System for Measurement
of Magnetic Properties of Soft Magnetic Materials - 1995 -
The project was developed in order to complement several other research
projects in this and other research groups.. The system makes use of the
up-to-date technique of virtual instrumentation (VI) which is a combination
of hardware and software with the functionality of a classic measuring
instrument.
Graphical programming technique was applied provided by LabVIEW environment
by National Instruments. The computer hardware consisted of PC DX-33 and a
data acquisition card Lab-PC+.
The system is suitable to reliably measure dynamic hysteresis loops and
evaluate associated parameters such as dynamic permeability, coercivity,
losses, etc of soft magnetic materials in a variety of sample forms.
The system was further expanded by including arbitrary waveform generation
of the exciting voltage.
