Modelling Transient Acoustic Transducer Fields, 1994-.
The main focus of this PhD project is the modelling of transducer fields
with an intention to avoid most of currently used simplifications and
without usual drawbacks.
The current task is to produce an improved analytical model of an ultrasonic
transducer suitable for fast numerical implementation and replacing the
harmonic solutions and related formulae by a less restricted but practical
algorithm for computation of radiated and/or diffracted fields including
secondary diffraction.
The model of the piezoelectric transducer thickness excitation has been
examined and for the three-port, Z matrix and its corresponding equivalent
circuit, a simpler two-port network derivation has been proposed, giving a
direct insight into the nature of the distributed excitation.
