Assessment of Magnetic Fields in Human Environment, Project in collaboration with ETSA Corporation, Environment and Technology Department, 1995-1999.
The public awareness has increased in recent years regarding low
frequency magnetic fields relation to the health, safety and environmental
issues and many studies cover various aspects of magnetic fields from
biological and epidemiological studies to field measurements and simulation
.
Occupational studies of magnetic fields are relatively well advanced,
however residential studies are not. This project has been initiated in
close collaboration with ETSA and aims at the exposure assessment in the
vicinity of power lines, power stations, home and office working
environment.
The project scope covers magnetic source characterisation and analysis,
development of measurement database and modelling of typical exposure
environments. PhD project in this area was completed in 1999.
