University of South Australia's Materials and Minerals building - The M2
Building has been awarded the following commendations:
- Australian Institute of Building National Certificate of High Commendation - Commercial Construction $10m - $50m
- Master Builders of Australia - SA Excellence Award - Commercial/Industrial Building $20m - $50m
- Australia Institute of Architects - Jack McConnell Award for Public Architecture
- Master Builders of Australia - National Excellence Award - Commercial Construction $20m - $50m
- Australian Institute of Building - SA Excellence Award - Commercial Construction $10m - $50m
June 2011) The University of South Austalia’s Building V – Mawson Institute at Mawson Lakes Campus has been awarded a 5 Star Green Star – Education Designs v1 Certified rating, which represents ‘Australian Excellence’ in environmentally sustainable design/construction. Building V – Mawson Institute is the first laboratory intensive building to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating in South Australia in 2011.
June 2010) Australian Institute of Architects (SA Chapter) award for sustainable architecture - Building V, Mawson Lakes Campus. Building V challenges the typical perception of a laboratory environment through melding flexible research laboratories with open interactive spaces.
June 2009) Australian Institute of Architects - Heritage Commendation
The Brookman Building was erected in 1903 to accommodate the South Australian School of Mines and Industries. The building now provides the focus for the City east Campus of the University of South Australia.
November 2008) First Year Engineering Learning Hub project
The recently completed First Year Engineering Learning Hub in Building A at Mawson Lakes Campus is an innovative retrofit of the former Isobar space.
September 2008) As part of UniSA's focus on research, a new building "Environmental Science Building" for the Centre for Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation (CERAR)March 2008) The UniSA Mt Gambier Regional Centre is used for teaching and admin purposes.
