Campus facilities suggestions
- Additional quiet areas in the JS Building
- Parking fees
- Extended opening hours JS building
- Quiet areas in the JS building
- Lighting on campus
As a result we have made the entire Level 6 floor of the Jeffrey Smart Building a quiet floor.
We had a suggestion that parking machines accept pay wave cards as people sometimes don't have change. We're reviewing our parking meter technology - one option would be a parking app. There's still some way to go before we implement anything.
Following feedback from students, we have extended the opening hours for the Jeffery Smart building. Effective from Monday 28 July 2014, the entire building will be open until Midnight on weekdays and from 10am on weekends. Levels 1 and 2 will continue to be open 24 hours a day (with access via swipe card).
This makes an additional 18 hours per week that all levels of the Jeffrey Smart Building will be available for use.
As a result we have opened up new quiet and silent zones in the Jeffrey Smart building. We also have five new project rooms available for individual or quiet group study.
The detail (re location of quiet/silent zones and project rooms) has been added to the JS building website.
Students told us they would like more lighting on campus as Magill, especially in the tennis court car park...
A memo is currently being prepared to be sent to the University's Senior Management Group in the coming weeks to apply for upgrades to the lighting systems at Magill. The tennis court car park is one of the areas highlighted in the proposal.
