Modes of study

 Internal attendance

Students normally attend lectures, tutorials, practicals and other classes on one of the University campuses. Some students may be required to attend classes on more than one campus, depending on the courses being studied.

Postgraduate awards by research do not normally require regular attendance at lectures or other classes.

External attendance

Some programs are also offered wholly or partially externally, including on-line delivery.

For further information about programs offered either in the external mode or online, and procedures for admission and enrolment, go to information about off-campus study.

Mixed-mode attendance

It is sometimes possible for students to undertake a combination of internal and external classes.

Part-time study

Part-time students, both internal and external, are those who undertake less than 75 per cent of a normal annual full-time load.
