Meet GE Alumni

The following student profiles are useful in developing a better understanding of what student's can do as part of the Global Experience program.


Hayley CookHayley Cook


Hayley Cook completed the Global Experience program in January 2010. as part of her Global Experience program, Hayley completed the following activities:

  • Volunteered as the Events Coordinator for Non Government Organisation, Tia International Aid throughout 2009
  • Completed overseas volunteering through the Vanuatu Conservation and Community Development Program with Global Vision International (GVI)
  • Completed an internationally focused course within here academic program - Critical Issues in Tourism in the Asia-Pacific Region
  • Attended an off campus conference titled One Just World Forum: Carbon Trading Exposed, The Impact on the World's Poor
  • Participated in three interactive Global Experience workshops: Human Rights and Post Colonial Issues, Global Health and Development and Global Concepts of Family
  • Compiled and updated an online exchange blog while volunteering in Vanuatu

Soo Ann LeeSoo Ann Lee

NOW: Associate, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Malaysia


Soo Ann Lee completed the Global Experience program in January, 2010. As part of her Global Experience program, Soo Ann completed the following activities:

  • Participated in the National Leadership and Development seminar (NLDS) at University Malaya, Malaysia in 2007
  • Undertook an international traineeship with the tax department of PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Malaysia
  • Organised an off campus event for commencing international students at UniSA which involved the organisation and coordination of a student bike ride from Adelaide city to Henley Beach
  • Completed an internationally focused course within here academic program - International Currency and Banking Markets
  • Organised an on campus event for transnational students from Malaysia to celebrate Malaysian Independence Day
  • Soo Ann undertook the role of Team Leader, Sponsorships at the 2001 Taylor's University College Career and Employment Fair in Malaysia
  • Participated in the 2009 Stand Up for Change campaign organised by the Oaktree Foundation aimed at raising public awareness of extreme poverty
  • Participated in a Global Experience workshop on Global Health and Development
  • Attended an on-campus seminar facilitated by the 2004 Young Australian of the Year, and founder of the Global Poverty Project, Hugh Evans
  • Submitted two articles to the Global Experience bulletin for publications

Sarah MillerSarah Miller

NOW: HR Manager, Australian High Commission, Singapore


Sarah Miller completed the Global Experience program in August, 2009. As part of her Global Experience program, Sarah completed the following activities:

  • Completed a student exchange program with Bordeaux Management School in France during 2008
  • Volunteered in early 2009 teaching English in Singapore
  • Completed an internationally focused course within here academic program - French 1A
  • Participated in the 2008 Asia Pacific Model United Nations Conference (AMUNC)
  • Participated in a Global Experience workshop on Living the Expat Life
  • Compiled and updated an online Exchange Blog while on exchange in France
