The Hawke Policy Website is an exciting new initiative of the Hawke Research Institute. It presents recent research undertaken at UniSA on Australian social and public policy. The format is straightforward and accessible so that policy makers and stakeholders can easily access the latest research and ideas coming out of the university. There are links to the full text of many reports and papers. The website includes material on these themes: ageing, education, employment and unemployment, housing and homelessness, Indigenous issues, women’s issues and social inclusion. The site includes a search engine, summaries of recent research findings and extensive cross-referencing.

The website can be found at http://www.hawkecentre.unisa.edu.au/institute/HawkePolicyWebsite/default.htm

The Hawke Policy Website was launched on Thursday 20 November by the Hon Lea Stevens, Minister Assisting the Premier in Social Inclusion and Minister for Health. The launch also celebrated the Memorandum of Understanding between the Hawke Research Institute and the Social Inclusion Unit, Department of the Premier and Cabinet. The MOU recognises the parties’ mutual interests and intent to undertake mutual activities in the areas of: education (especially school retention), social policy (including issues of poverty and unemployment), and social justice.
