Simply the Best: women’s collections in galleries, libraries, archives and museums

Expressions of interest are being called for papers and presentations to the third national conference to be held in Adelaide on 28-30 September, 2005. The conference aims to identify and focus on female collections nationally and internationally and confirmed presentations include the Jessie Street National Women’s Library, Miles Franklin and women in the wine industry

Hazel’s Journey: a personal experience of Alzheimer’s

In November 2003 Hazel Hawke, former wife of prime minister Bob Hawke revealed publicly that she was facing her greatest challenge, Alzheimer’s disease. Her courage and determination to face this challenge is told by her daughter Sue–Pieters Hawke in this new publication. Money raised from the sale of the book will assist the Hazel Hawke Alzheimer’s Research and Care Fund

William J Clinton Presidential Centre and Library opens in Little Rock, Arkansas

President Bush, along with former presidents George Bush senior and Jimmy Carter joined Bill Clinton and 30,000 guests on November 18, 2004 to dedicate the William J Clinton Presidential Library. ‘This library tells a story about America in the last part of the 20th century’ said Clinton describing a nation exiting the Cold War and entering a world of information technology. The library's collection boasts nearly 2 million photographs, 76 million pages of paper documents and 75,000 museum artefacts.
