New Director for Hawke Prime Ministerial Library

Helen Livingston, formerly the Acting Executive Director: Learning Services and University Librarian at Deakin University in Geelong has been appointed to the position of Director of Library Services at the University of South Australia incorporating the role of Director of the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Library. Helen brings with her an excellent background and appreciation of prime ministerial libraries in Australia following her recent role as Director of the Alfred Deakin Prime Ministerial Library. Helen will replace De Alan Bundy as the Founding Director of the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Library upon his retirement from the University in March 2005. Simply the Best: women’s collections in galleries, libraries, archives and museums

Expressions of interest are being called for papers and presentations to the third national conference to be held in Adelaide on 28-30 September, 2005. The conference aims to identify and focus on female collections nationally and internationally and confirmed presentations include the Jessie Street National Women’s Library, Miles Franklin and women in the wine industry.
