Hawke
helpsIn 2012, in collaboration with the Dean: Research and Research Education, the Hawke Research Institute will provide up to three grants to host seminars with a range of high-profile national and international scholars. The purpose of the seminars is to provide the opportunity for academic staff and students to engage with influential scholars at the cutting edge of their fields. Each grant will provide up to $20,000 to fund the direct costs of the seminar, for example travel expenses for speakers and catering costs. Administrative assistance including organising travel, venue and catering will be provided by the Hawke Research Institute.
We are calling for expressions of interest from academic staff who undertake research in the humanities and social sciences, and who are early career researchers. The invitation is open to academic staff who are employed on either a continuing basis or on a fixed-term contract of one year or longer in the Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of South Australia. Expressions of interest will be considered by a committee chaired by Assoc Prof Margaret Peters, Dean: Research and Research Education, and will be judged on their quality and feasibility of the proposed outcomes.
Early career researchers (ECRs) are researchers who are within five years of the start of their research careers. This normally means that you have been awarded a PhD or equivalent research doctorate within the last five years; however, an extension to this limit may be approved owing to significant career interruptions.
