Overview - Children’s Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey
The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and
the University of South Australia (UniSA) jointly will be developing and
undertaking a population based children’s nutrition and physical activity
survey for the Commonwealth as represented by the Department of Health and
Ageing. CSIRO and UniSA will be assisted by I-view an Australian Market
Research Agency.
The children’s nutrition and physical activity survey will collect detailed
information about the food and nutrient intake, physical activity levels and
weight status of a nationally representative sample of children and young
people in Australia in
2006-2007.
The Director for the project is
Associate Professor Tim Olds from School of Health Sciences, UniSA
• CSIRO will take the lead role in the food and nutrition component of the
survey
• UniSA will take the lead role in both the physical activity and physical
measurement components of the survey
• I-view will undertake the fieldwork components of the survey
