eduroam

What is eduroam?

eduroam is a world wide education roaming service now available at UniSA.

eduroam provides a secure wireless connection for staff, students and visitors. Being part of eduroam allows you to visit a participating institution and connect to the internet the same way you do on campus - all without having to request a guest account.

This site provides information about getting access to eduroam at UniSA.

Where can I use eduroam?

You can use eduroam on campus at UniSA (City East, City West, Magill, Mawson Lakes, Whyalla and Underdale) as well as over 500 sites world wide throughout 30 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, China, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and the UK.

Just look for the eduroam logo!

For UniSA staff and students:

All UniSA accounts are eduroam enabled. Follow the user guides on getting your computer connected:

There are some differences between using eduroam at UniSA (On Campus) or at Participating Institutions (Off Campus).

On Campus

Off Campus

You'll need to configure your browser to use the proxy for internet access. Some sites require the use of a VPN for internet access. Make sure that your VPN is setup to direct traffic to UniSA and configure your browser proxy.

For visitors to UniSA:

Simply connect to eduroam as you would normally, using your home institutions username and domain/realm (such as jsmith@institution.edu.au), password and security settings (these are compatible but might be slightly different to what's used at UniSA).

Once connected to eduroam you'll have high-speed access to AARNet, CANARIE, TEIN2, GEANT, JANET and Internet2 (and all AARNet on.net sites) as well as access to the rest of the Internet.

There is no need to use a VPN connection unless you need access to a specific service at your home site.

Getting Assistance

If you require assistance contact the UniSA IT Help Desk.  For in person help please view the Wireless Appointment Times.
