A MS patch released on the 4th of April 2007 (MS07-017) may prevent the Realtek HD Audio panel from launching. This problem is associated with Omega and IPEX computers and users will see the following error message
Microsoft have released a fix to resolve this problem which can be downloaded from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935448. If you are unable to install this patch please raise a service call via the IT Help Desk self service pages at www.unisa.edu.au/helpdesk and the call will be passed on to your local IT support team.
