How do I connect a mobile device to the UniSA email system?

Return to: ISTS FAQ Home > Telephone > Mobiledevices

The UniSA email system allows two distinct methods for connecting to the UniSA mail environment, IMAP and Exchange ActiveSync. The details below can be used by both staff located both on and off campus. For students trying to connect their mobile device to the UniSA email system please see the AskIT page Student email - Connecting via your mobile device

IMAP

IMAP is standard protocol used by just about all mobile devices and other generic mail clients. Connection details for the UniSA mail server via IMAP can be found below. The IMAP protocol does not allow the sending of mail. You will need to contact your ISP for a SMTP or other mail server to send mail. If you are connected to the UniSA network you can send mail over the SMTP protocol.

Exchange ActiveSync

Exchange ActiveSync is a proprietary protocol used by many mobile devices to connect to a MS Exchange mail environment. Connections details for UniSA can be found below
