All University owned desktop computers and notebooks must have an approved antivirus software installed. The University uses Microsoft System Centre Endpoint Protection software and is automatically installed on any University owned system running a Microsoft Windows Operating System.
Work at Home
Microsoft Windows products version 8 and above come with the antivirus software Windows Defender. If you are using previous version to Windows 8 and require an antivirus solution there are various free alternatives such as Microsoft Security Essentials.
Mac computers are vulnerable to trojans and ransomware so antivirus software should be installed on personally owned Apple computers. There are free and paid antivirus products available to choose from, with a good overview of the best at Toms Guide.
