Licence Management
Because the University has a limited number of Minitab licences these are managed from a licence management server. When Minitab is run, the workstation connects to the licence manager server and a licence is temporarily checked out from the pool of available licences. Devices that are not always connected to the network are able to borrow a licence for a limited time. For devices that never connect to the University network you should contact the IT Help Desk for assistance.
Borrowing a licence for a portable device
Portable devices running Minitab need to connect to the University network in order to "borrow" a licence. This will allow you to continue using Minitab without being connected to the network. A licence can be borrowed using the utilities linked below, alternatively a licence can be manually borrowed as described in the Minitab Installation Guides.
To use the utilities below you must have Minitab installed and be connected to the University network. Select "Run" when prompted, the utility will then take several seconds to run.
Licence utility for Minitab v16 only (UniSA staff access only)
Can I use this software at home?
No. There are no work at home rights for Minitab.
