MSc PhD Lodz, Poland

Background
Agnieszka received her PhD in May 2006 from the Technical University of Lodz, Faculty of Chemistry; Department of Molecular Physics in Poland. Her PhD work was focused on generation of conductive composites of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene using single and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNT) as conductive fillers. Agnieszka won two prestigious Marie Curie awards to carry out research at world renowned research laboratories such as the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany (MPIP) and Laboratory Francis Perrin CEA-CNRS Paris, France.

At MPIP, she worked with Prof. Pakula on investigating the mechanical and dielectrical properties of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene/carbon nanotubes composites. She developed a novel method of preparation of carbon nanotubes polymer composites which resulted in an effective conductive network allowing high degree of conductivity at very low levels of loading (0.021vol%).

At the Laboratory Francis Perrin CEA-CNRS Paris, France, Agnieszka worked with Dr Mayne's group for six months on synthesis of aligned multi-walled carbon nanotubes by Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) and dispersion and stabilization of CNTs in different liquid media and the elaboration of polymer/nanotube composites.

In May 2005, she moved to Australia and joined The Wark as a Research Assistant. After defending her PhD thesis in May 2006, Agnieszka took the position of Research Associate in Particle and Mineral Interfaces. In January 2011 she was promoted to Research Fellow.
