Background
Scott obtained a degree in Chemical Technology at UniSA, completing his
Honours year in 1995. He then went to Loughborough University in England for
a 3-month student exchange investigating capillary flow characteristics.
Upon returning to Australia, he commenced a PhD at The Wark investigating
photo-induced reversible changes in wettability on light sensitive
pyrimidine coated surfaces. After the successful completion of his PhD
studies, Scott took a Research Chemist position at Flexichem Pty Ltd in
August 2000 where he developed and synthesised a range of functional
silicone polymers for use in the textile and rubber industry.
In April 2004, he re-joined The Wark as a Polymer and Colloid
Technologist where he supported Wark staff and students together with
assisting industry to solve problems through short term consulting services.
Since 2009, Scott has coordinated a team of material characterisation
