What is a sustainable community?

Sustainable communities are places where people want to live and work, both now and in the future.
A sustainable community has a forward focus to meet the diverse needs of residents currently, but particularly to ensure that the same quality exists in the future. Sustainable communities need to be sensitive to the environment, providing the stability of that community directly, but also the surrounding world.
They are safe and inclusive, well planned, built and run, and offer equality of opportunity and good services for all.
But is this more about hot air rather than clean air, or building civic empires rather than green environments? Join us and draw your own conclusions.
